NATIONAL AUTISM HOUR

As part of an initiative organised by the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) and the National Autistic Society, Purley Masjid will be participating in National Autism Hour

Visiting the Mosque is an integral part of a Muslim’s life but for many Autistic Muslims, it is often a difficult and anxiety-filled experience with bright lights, packed and crowded halls, loud announcements and Adhan. But simple measures can make the Mosque more accessible for them. In addition, the Autism Hour is open to people of all faiths and none and is a great way to engage with members of the wider local community.

The event includes sensory table top activities introducing the five pillars of Islam.
