Croydon Mencap represents the interests of people with learning disabilities, their families and carers within the London Borough of Croydon.
We are a charitable voluntary organisation and registered charity with our own Board of voluntary Trustees/Directors.
Croydon Mencap’s purpose is to provide advice, information and support through a range of projects and services.
Croydon Mencap is affiliated to Royal Mencap but is not financially supported or governed by its National body.
“I AM”, produced by Meehow Films, is an inspirational and moving exploration of the nature of ability that showcases the talents of four very different young people, challenging the audience’s preconceptions about diversity.
The short film features students and alumni of the Orpheus Centre including current nominee for the One Dance UK awards and the BBC’s Greatest Dancer contestant, Andrew Self.
The film stars former Orpheus students Awa, Steve and Sandra and was filmed on location at the Orpheus Centre, Oxted Barn Theatre, Caterham’s Ridge Radio and the London Colisuem.
