Croydon Mencap represents the interests of people with learning disabilities, their families and carers within the London Borough of Croydon.
We are a charitable voluntary organisation and registered charity with our own Board of voluntary Trustees/Directors. Croydon Mencap’s purpose is to provide advice, information and support through a range of projects and services. Croydon Mencap is affiliated to Royal Mencap but is not financially supported or governed by its National body.
Croydon Council’s Disability Youth Project are running a Summer Scheme at Waddon Youth Centre
for young people with SEN, autism and additional needs aged 8-25.

This year, Learning Disability Week (18 – 24 June) is all about health – with a big focus on the Treat me well campaign.
Simple changes in hospital care can make a big difference – better communication, more time and clearer information.
But we know the treatment people with a learning disability get in hospital is still not good enough in many parts of the country. This has to change.
