There is only just over a week to go until the next Croydon Big Talk Day on:
‘Where to go to get Help in Croydon’
We will help people to share ideas and learn about where to go when you have, for example, a safety need, a health issue, a need for advice or to get information. Where do you go? By doing this, we would hope that, over time, people would be able to be more confident and more independent as they would not be as reliant on support workers or family carers.
We will also be looking back at Big Talk videos in the afternoon, reminding ourselves of what we have learnt and celebrating the success of the Big Talk events.
Please see the easy-read poster (below) for more details.
Please talk to people you support about this great opportunity to extend their knowledge and if they would like to attend, complete and return the application to come along to the event. As always we hope the event will be enjoyable, informative and inclusive, with lots of opportunities for people to talk about what’s important to them.
Please fill in the booking form (below) and send it to Croydon People First at the address on the bottom of the form. To get a good mix of people at the event, there will be a maximum of six places from each house or day service available (plus support workers). There will be a maximum of 60 places at the event, so please apply as soon as you can as the places will be allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. You will be contacted to confirm that you have a place, so please do not attend the event unless you receive this confirmation.
A free lunch will be provided.
The event is jointly organised by the Croydon Learning Disability Commissioning Team and Croydon People First.
If you have any questions about the event, please contact Andrew Slegg on
0208 239 4393 or on firstname.lastname@example.org
Please don’t miss out on these enjoyable and informative events.
We look forward to hearing from you
