Volunteering with Croydon Voluntary Action – supporting our Volunteering Buddies Project
We have an exciting and rewarding new project which aims to support people with learning disabilities in the borough of Croydon.
We are looking for Buddies who have the time each week to take part in a social activity and have a chat. This may be online such as on Zoom or WhatsApp video, or on the phone.
Part of the Buddies role will be to encourage people to try new activities, either online or following safe social distancing advice (when allowed).
The project was set up to support people with learning disabilities to take part in volunteering roles in Croydon. As the situation with Covid-19 improves to allow this, we will introduce this element. Our borough has plenty of projects that are crying out for our time and attention!
This opportunity is ideal for people who
- are interested in providing real hands-on support to people with learning disabilities
- have an interest in community-based services
- are able to show empathy
- can build a friendly relationship while maintaining boundaries
Please apply to Croydon Voluntary Action (CVA) on the link below.
