Carers Support News

 

Croydon Mencap want to let you know that from 1st April 2025, there will be changes to carers support services in Croydon. 

Croydon Mencap will temporarily be providing a smaller carers support service from April 2025 as our funding from the council’s current contractual arrangement finishes. We are actively seeking alternative funding to continue supporting lifelong carers of adults with learning disabilities in the fullest way possible subject to funding - will keep you informed. 

A new carers service will be delivered in the borough by a new organisation called Carers First.  They will be taking over from the Carers Information Service, from a different local base in Croydon.

We understand that this may raise questions and concerns. We want to reassure you that we are working closely with Carers First, Carers Information Service and the Council to understand what this change means for you and to make sure the transition is as smooth as possible. 

We will keep you updated as we learn more.  And hope to arrange special meetings to discuss the changes.  Please bear with us.
