After 5 wonderful years at Croydon Mencap the time has come for me to retire.
I have had the pleasure and privilege of the support of a great team of trustees that have helped me to lead a truly amazing staff team through some challenging times; parents and carers that have welcomed our new ideas and been incredibly supportive; colleagues in the organisations that partner with us; but most of all I have been inspired by the children, young people and adults that strive and succeed in overcoming the many obstacles placed in their way by their disabilities.
If I do not have the opportunity to see you before I leave may I take this opportunity to thank you for helping to make my time at Croydon Mencap so productive and rewarding.
I said that I will not leave until we have found the right person to succeed me, we have now found that person and it gives me great pleasure to announce that Katherine Wynne will be Croydon Mencap’s New Chief Executive from 6 December.
I will work with Katherine through her induction and will leave sometime in January.
